Our Staff
Christy
Rigging Expert
Christy is the resident sailing expert and tackles everything having to do with rigging, splicing, stepping/unstepping masts, and general regatta preps. She’s our marine electronics go-to and also a USCG Licensed Captain with over 20 years of experience!
JJ
Yard Manager
JJ has been with us for over 20 years and has a wealth of knowledge. From scheduling launch/haul outs, managing our workforce, and performing whatever needs to get done - he’s a great team player and there isn’t much that JJ doesn’t have experience with. As our awesome Yard Manager, he keeps us on task, organized, and happy!
Gene
Assistant to the Rigging Expert
As an avid sailor himself, Gene helps Christy with all of the rigging and sailboat tasks. He’s very well versed in engine repair and is innovative when it comes to solving problems. Gene’s also a Mate aboard the Mystic Belle!
Don & Karen
“Retired”
This marina is what it is today because of Don & Karen. Family to some, friend to all - Don is our “retiree” and resident tinkerer. He calls himself the Janitor, but he’s our go to expert for everything! Karen is our green thumb who keeps the planters near every dock in perfect shape!
Alicia
Storage Unit Superstar
Alicia has stepped up into a new role as the owner/operator of the storage units. She keeps everything organized and ensures our storage customers have the best experience. Additionally, she serves as a Mate aboard the Mystic Belle and spends some quality time on the water with Captain Don. Alicia’s usually escorted by her sidekick Huey (see below)!
Michelle
Office Manager
Michelle is our office manager and keeps everything and everyone in line, which is not an easy job! She tackles all of the billing, customer service, and ensures our operations are running smoothly.
Beacon
Yard Dog
Beacon is slowly but surely filling Bailey’s shoes now that Bailey crossed over the rainbow bridge. Beacon’s responsibilities include chasing ducks/geese off the docks and serving as our official greeter for all of our dockers, friends, and family.
Huey
Yard Dog
A gentle giant standing hip-tall, Huey always has a smile on his face and plenty of licks to give. You can always find Huey right by Alicia’s side and he absolutely weighs more than she does!
In Memoriam
In loving memory.
From launching boats in the spring, to repairs and maintenance throughout the season, Cliff truly did it all. He is well-remembered throughout Vermilion, even outside our local boating community, for his bright smile that was always on display as he moved boats through town on the tractor. Cliff’s legacy still guides marina operations today as we know he’s keeping us on course from Heaven.
